Burglary Crackdown Success |

Officers have made about 90 arrests as part of the operation and some offenders have been jailed while other suspects have been charged, with court proceedings pending.
Operation Alert was launched on June 22 and has seen police tackling the crime on several fronts alongside other agencies on the Safer Peterborough partnership. Officers have visited people with suspected links to burglary, carried out extra patrols, stop and searched in "hot spot" areas and gathered intelligence.
DI Neil Sloan, who has led the operation, said: "I am delighted with the results of Op Alert to date, particularly as we have had a fall in burglaries when we traditionally get a rise during the summer months.
"All of the arrests we have made were of people on our original list of suspects and that has been updated as people are convicted. Of our current top 10 list, four have been charged with burglary and are now on court bail pending trial.
"However, we will not become complacent and will continue to target suspects and arrest them for any offence for which we have evidence."
"I would ask people to continue calling us with information, particularly if they see any suspicious activity, and to make sure their homes are secure at all times."
